Meet our Business Development Manager, Tracey Atkin

We recently welcomed our new Business Development Manager, Tracey, into the Gus Robinson team and now it’s time for you all to get to know her a little more…

How long have you been working in the industry?

“I have been active in the industry for 16 years, initially starting out as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor.”

Tell us a little about your career history

“I worked in a commercial capacity for 13 years, most recently as Commercial Manager working on a variety of projects.

“In 2016, I moved over to the front end of the business, taking up a position as Development Manager in the newly established land and partnerships team. There, I spent three years sourcing land and developing schemes through the initial feasibility stages and planning process. These schemes were developed on behalf of organisations such as Karbon Homes, Bernicia and Home Group.

“This experience in particular has set me up nicely for my current role within Gus Robinson, as I will be playing a large part in the feasibility stages of land led schemes.”

Do you have any specialisms?

“The bulk of my experience is in social housing and extra care / sheltered housing, with particular focus on partnered contracts with social housing and care providers.

“I have however worked on several commercial schemes, including supermarkets and pharmacies.”

What’s been the most challenging part of your career so far?

“Some of the most challenging schemes I have been a part of have included the refurbishment and conversion of listed buildings.

“Most recently, an old fire station (now known as the Engine Room) in the cultural quarter of Sunderland.”

We’re so glad to have you as part of the team! What are you most looking forward at Gus Robinson?

“I’m most looking forward to working with such a fantastic team to overcome the challenges of getting our projects to site. I’ve already seen so much knowledge and expertise here in just a few short weeks and hopefully, I can make a valued contribution to this going forward.
