College students visit Greatham Site

Earlier this month, First and Second Year students from Hartlepool College of Further Education visited our Hill View site in Greatham as part of their BTEC Level 3 Construction and the Built Environment studies.

The students were given a supervised tour of the site by the Gus Robinson team, allowing them to ask questions about working in construction and the development process. They learnt about the insulated concrete form system (ICF) which is covered within their studies which was a great opportunity for the students to see it first-hand.

The college have a strong relationship with Gus Robinson Developments and from this, several former students have secured apprenticeships over the last decade.

Lecturer Brian Rose commented “having used to work for Gus Robinson myself, I knew that when starting as a lecturer there would be numerous development schemes the team would be delivering which would benefit the students.

It is always worthwhile for the students to experience live sites and further their knowledge by speaking to industry experts.”

Hill View in Greatham is being constructed on behalf of Karbon Homes.
