Education
Gus Robinson Developments have a long history of working within the education sector. We are experienced in new build and major refurbishment projects as well as planned and reactive maintenance.
These projects have been carried out under both partnering and traditional tendering procedures and are consistently delivered on time, safely, within budget always guarantying customer satisfaction.
For the past seven years Gus Robinson Developments have operated within a Local Education Authority partnering framework. This contract has recently been extended for a further three years.
Most of our work is carried out in the North of England with new schools such as Dene House Primary in Peterlee and Middleton Tyas Junior School in Rchmondshire being prime examples. We have also traveled as far afield as The Royal College of Art and the Royal College of Science and Technology to carry out prestigious contracts in London.
Many schools take advantage of our maintenance service, which can include all, or a selection from our building, plumbing, mechanical and electrical divisions. We are able to offer these core services under one umbrella, which means our clients need only one point of contact for any planned or emergency works that may be required.
We pride ourselves on customer care, which is never compromised. Whether the contract is new build, occupied refurbishment, plant room modifications or boiler replacements, we ensure that deadlines are met without any disruption to curriculum activity.
As part of our customer care and commitment to local communities we offer schools mentoring and safety awareness training. This provides the students with an insight into the project and how it may affect them.
We are also involved in providing work experience opportunities to year 10 students via the Education Business Partnership. For several years we have been classed as a ‘red top’ company that has given hundreds of students an insight into a potential career path. The success of this scheme is evident in the number of students who have returned to the company as apprentices or trainees. One of our Quantity Surveyors: a BSc (Hons) graduate actually began his career with us as a 15-year-old work experience student back in 2000.
We are imbedded within the community. Indeed, several members of our staff are school or college governors, further demonstrating our commitment to the education sector.
At GRD, we take vetting seriously and ensure that all employees working on educational premises are enhanced CRB checked. We insist that all employees display clear identification badges with company information, employee picture and CRB disclosure number.
